About this item
For a home office or family desk, the HP OmniDesk Slim desktop lists an Intel i5-14400 processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory on a single stick and a 512GB NVMe SSD, sold new for $489. As the name says, it has a slim case for tight spots under or beside a desk.
Should you add a second RAM stick to the HP OmniDesk Slim?
The seller lists one 16GB stick, which may leave a slot free. Adding a matching DDR5 module lets the memory run in dual channel, which helps with integrated graphics and heavy multitasking. Ask how many slots are open.
- The title doesn't mention Windows, so confirm the operating system.
- Check for built-in Wi-Fi if you can't run an Ethernet cable.
- See whether a keyboard and mouse are in the box.
- 512GB is enough for documents and apps. Plan on external storage for large photo or video libraries.
