About this item
At $9.99, this Philips wired USB gaming keyboard is about as low-risk as a new keyboard gets. The black, full-size board has 104 keys, so you keep the number pad, and it connects by USB cable to a PC, laptop or desktop. Students, casual gamers and anyone replacing a dead office keyboard will find it covers the basics.
Is a cheap wired gaming keyboard good enough?
For everyday typing and casual gaming, often yes. Just be clear on what the title does and doesn't promise.
- Switch type: the title doesn't give it, so don't assume it's mechanical. Check the listing.
- Lighting: the title doesn't mention backlighting. If you need it, check the description.
- Laptop use: a full-size board needs desk space next to your laptop.
- Spares: at this price, it makes sense to keep a backup in the office or classroom.
