About this item
Replacing the thermal paste in an older computer or swapping a CPU cooler? Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound in the 3.5g AS5-3.5G size is listed new at $9.99. The listing notes a limit of five per order. Thermal paste fills the tiny gaps between a processor and its heatsink so heat moves away efficiently.
How much Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste do I need?
Each application needs only a small amount, so 3.5g usually covers several CPU or graphics card jobs. Exactly how many depends on chip size and how you apply it.
- Clean first: wipe off old paste with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Use a little: too much can squeeze out past the edges.
- Keep it tidy: keep paste off nearby parts and contacts, and check the packaging for handling notes.
- Check the product: compare the photos with the model number AS5-3.5G.
