About this item
Fresh Arctic MX-6 thermal paste is a cheap fix when a CPU, game console or laptop starts running hot after years of use. This 2 g pack (part ACTCP00079A) is listed new at $7.99. The small size suits DIY builders and repair hobbyists with a few jobs to do.
How much thermal compound do you need for a CPU?
Usually just a pea-sized dot for a desktop CPU. Laptops and consoles often need a thin spread over the chip. Using too much paste makes a mess and doesn't improve cooling.
- Clean off the old paste with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth first.
- Check your device's repair guide before opening a console or laptop.
- Verify part number ACTCP00079A in the listing photos.
- Look in the listing for any date printed on the packaging.
