About this item
The RK61 60% mechanical gaming keyboard combines hot-swap sockets with red switches, RGB lighting and USB-C. It's listed new at $87.99. Hot-swap is the standout feature, because you can try different switches later without a soldering iron.
Are red switches good for gaming and typing?
Red switches are typically linear and smooth, which many gamers like for fast, repeated presses. Typists who prefer a tactile bump can swap in different switches down the line.
- Compatibility: check the listing for which switch types fit the hot-swap sockets.
- Layout: most 60% boards drop the number pad and dedicated arrow cluster, so look at the layout photo.
- Connection: USB-C is listed. See whether wireless is mentioned.
- Extras: confirm whether a keycap or switch puller is included.
