About this item
Older hardware can be a bargain, and the open-box Dell Precision 7520 laptop offers an i7-6820HQ, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for $299.99. The 6820HQ is a sixth-generation Intel processor, so expect solid office performance rather than modern speed.
Is a Dell Precision 7520 still worth buying for students or a home lab?
It can stretch a tight budget for learning CAD basics, coding, running a home server or keeping a spare laptop around. Just know that 8GB of RAM is modest by today's standards.
- Operating system: Check which OS, if any, is installed and whether it's supported on this processor.
- Graphics: The title lists no GPU, so confirm it in the specifics.
- Battery: Ask about battery health, since age matters on older laptops.
- Charger: Workstations need the right adapter, so confirm it's included.
