About this item
A Dell OptiPlex 3050 desktop is a familiar pick for front desks, homework stations and small offices. This open-box unit has an Intel Core i5-6500, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, HDMI output and Windows 10. It's meant for browsing, documents and email, not gaming or heavy editing.
Is the OptiPlex 3050 i5-6500 still worth buying?
For light tasks on a budget, it can be. Keep in mind that Windows 10 no longer gets regular free security updates from Microsoft, so plan how you'll handle that.
- A hard drive is slower than an SSD. If speed matters, budget for an upgrade.
- Confirm whether a keyboard, mouse or power cable is included.
- Check the listing to see whether it's a tower or a small form factor model.
- The title includes CH78G, so ask the seller what it refers to.
