About this item
The Intel NUC8i7HVK Hades Canyon mini PC still has a following among small-form-factor fans. This open-box unit comes with an i7-8809G processor and 16GB of RAM for $600.00. Read the title carefully, though: it includes no SSD and no operating system.
What do you need to get a Hades Canyon NUC running?
At minimum, you need a storage drive and an operating system such as Windows or Linux. That suits tinkerers who would rather pick their own SSD than pay for one they don't want.
- Storage: check the listing or Intel's spec sheet for compatible drive types before you order one.
- Power: confirm the power brick is included with this open-box unit.
- OS license: budget for Windows if you need it.
- Use cases: it can work as a compact home theater PC, a home lab machine or a space-saving workstation.
