About this item
The ASUS ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition power supply is listed new at $1,499. The title also mentions Edition 20 and the ROG Equalizer. A 3000W rating is far beyond what typical gaming PCs need. It's for builders running unusually power-hungry systems such as multiple high-end graphics cards, rendering rigs or AI workstations.
Do I really need a 3000W power supply?
Most single-GPU builds don't. Add up your components' rated power draw first. If your total is well under 3000W, a smaller unit saves money.
- Check that your home circuit and outlet can safely handle this load. Ask an electrician if you're unsure.
- Confirm the included cables and connector types match your GPUs and motherboard.
- Verify the unit's length fits your case.
- Look for photos of sealed packaging, given the new listing.
