About this item
A fresh layer of Arctic MX-4 thermal paste is one of the cheapest fixes for a CPU or GPU that runs hotter than it used to. This new 4 g listing costs $5.89. Keep it on hand for a new PC build, a cooler swap or repasting an aging graphics card.
How much thermal paste does a 4 g pack cover?
Each application needs only a small dot or a thin spread, so 4 g can usually handle several CPU jobs. Larger GPU dies use more, so plan for that if you are servicing multiple cards.
- Prep: wipe off the old compound with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth before applying.
- Applicator: check the listing for any included tools, such as a spatula.
- Authenticity: compare the packaging in the photos with the brand's retail look.
- Laptops: repasting a laptop means opening the chassis, so review any warranty terms first.
It is a small purchase that can bring temperatures back under control.
