About this item
No two custom built mechanical keyboards are the same. That's the appeal, but it also means you have research to do. This one is listed open box at $70, and the title says nothing more, so the photos and description are where you'll find out what you're getting.
What questions should I ask about a custom mechanical keyboard build?
Treat it like buying a used PC: ask what's inside and how it was built.
- Switches: are they linear, tactile or clicky, and are they lubed?
- Layout and size: check the photos for the number of keys and any keys you need that are missing.
- Connection: is it wired only, or wireless too? Is a cable included?
- Parts: ask about the case, plate and keycap materials, and whether it's hot-swap.
A good starting point for hobbyists who like to tinker.
