About this item
Retro PC builders restoring an older tower will see the appeal of an HP Multimedia PS/2 keyboard, model 5187. The seller describes this one as new old stock and tested. It's listed in open-box condition at $29.99.
Will a PS/2 keyboard work with a modern computer?
Only if your motherboard has a PS/2 port or you use a suitable adapter. Many newer machines don't have this port, so check yours before ordering.
- Storage: ask how the keyboard has been stored and whether the plastic shows any yellowing.
- Testing: ask what the seller's test covered, including the multimedia keys.
- Cable: look at the photos to check the cord and the plug.
- Best fit: vintage gaming rigs, collectors and period-correct office builds.
