About this item
Naval history collectors will want a close look at this Vietnam era US Navy minesweeping flag. The title describes it as a float distance signal and includes 1961 USN. It's listed as new for $65, so ask the seller what new means for a piece from this era.
What should collectors verify on a 1961 USN minesweeping signal flag?
With military collectibles, the details matter more than the headline.
- Markings: ask for close-up photos of any stamps, tags or dates.
- Size and material: the title doesn't give either, so check the description.
- Condition: ask how it was stored and whether it has any flaws.
- Display: plan on a frame or shadow box to protect it.
Your purchase is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee, but it's still smart to ask questions before you buy. It could also be a meaningful gift for a Navy veteran who served on minesweepers.
