About this item
The HP Engage Flex Pro-C retail system SFF is a small form factor retail base unit. It is listed as new open box (NOB) with an i5-8500 processor and 4GB of RAM. At $150, it appeals to shop owners, IT techs refreshing point-of-sale lanes, and tinkerers who want a cheap i5 box for a home server or lab.
Can the Engage Flex Pro-C run without an SSD or OS?
Not out of the box. The title states no SSD and no OS, so you'll need to add a drive and install an operating system yourself.
- Storage: check the description for the drive type and slot the unit accepts.
- RAM: 4GB is tight for modern Windows, so see whether more memory can be added.
- Power: confirm that a power supply or adapter is included.
- Retail ports: verify that it has the connections you need for printers, scanners or cash drawers.
