About this item
At $62, this open-box LG 27GQ40W-B UltraGear 27-inch gaming monitor is one of the cheaper ways to move past 60Hz. It has a Full HD panel, a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response rating and AMD FreeSync. That combination suits fast shooters and competitive games on a budget PC or laptop.
Is a 27-inch 1080p 165Hz monitor worth it at this price?
For smooth motion on a tight budget, yes. Text at 1080p on a 27-inch screen looks softer than on a 1440p screen, so office-heavy users may notice the difference.
- A price this low on an open-box unit calls for a close look at the photos. Check for scratches, dead pixels or a missing stand.
- Confirm the power adapter and a display cable are included.
- Check which inputs your PC or console uses so you can reach 165Hz.
- Ask whether the panel has been tested since it was opened.
