About this item
At $550, this open-box Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 gets you a 14-inch ThinkPad in black with an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and Windows 11. It's a sensible pick for students, consultants and anyone who types all day.
What should you check on an open-box ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9?
This generation has been on the market for a while, so battery health and keyboard wear tell you more than the spec line does.
- Ask the seller for a battery health or cycle count reading.
- 256GB works for cloud-based office work. If you store large files locally, plan on an external drive.
- Check whether the listing names the i7 generation and includes the charger.
- Look closely at photos of the keys, palm rest and screen for shine, wear or marks.
