About this item
A regular mouse can slide off a ledge or get knocked around, but an industrial trackball mouse stays in one place. This mechanical pointing device has a 38mm metal rollerball and connects over USB, so it suits control stations, kiosks, lab benches and workshop PCs. It is listed new at $57.00.
Can a 38mm metal trackball replace a regular mouse?
For moving the cursor, yes, and it doesn't need any desk space to move. If you've never used a trackball, expect a short adjustment period. The title doesn't say how many buttons it has.
- Check the photos for the button layout and whether it has a scroll function.
- Find out whether it is a desktop unit or a panel-mount design.
- If the PC sits far from the operator, ask about cable length.
- Make sure the USB plug type matches your machine.
