About this item
If your laptop runs hot or slows down under load, Honeywell PTM7950 phase change thermal paste is a common choice for a repaste. This piece is cut to 40x40x0.25mm. That's enough for one laptop CPU or graphics chip, possibly with some left over depending on the chip size.
Is PTM7950 a good replacement for regular thermal paste?
Many laptop owners pick phase change material because it comes as a solid sheet, so there's nothing to spread. Results vary from laptop to laptop.
- Measure first: compare your CPU and GPU chip sizes with 40x40mm.
- Thickness: the listing says 0.25mm. Make sure that suits the gap between your chip and heatsink.
- Prep: clean off all the old paste before applying.
- Handling: check the photos for protective films you need to peel off.
If your laptop has a separate CPU and graphics chip, compare this with larger sizes too.
