About this item
Factory floors, kiosks and public terminals wear out ordinary keyboards. A rugged industrial stainless steel keyboard with touchpad like this one has metal construction and a pointing device in the same unit. The title also notes a USB port. It's listed new at $100.00.
Where does a stainless steel metal keyboard make sense?
Think workshops, labs, self-service kiosks, control rooms and anywhere a standard plastic keyboard would get damaged or need frequent cleaning.
- USB port: clarify whether this means the cable connection or an extra pass-through port.
- Sealing: water and dust ratings aren't stated, so ask before using it in wet areas.
- Mounting: check whether it's panel-mount or desktop, and confirm the dimensions.
- Layout: confirm whether there's a number pad and which language layout it uses.
